Darjeeling

The multitude of tea gardens of Darjeeling are to found on the hillsides of the Eastern Himalayas, in altitudes above 600m.

It was 170 year ago that an officer of The East India Company, Archibald Campbell, first planted the camellia sinensis plant in an area that was hardly populated and jungle-covered.

Our Darjeeling is named after Campbell, in recognition of this foresight.
